Addiction rarely arrives alone. At Foundry Steamboat, our clinical team treats the full picture: the substance use disorder, the trauma underneath it, and the mental health conditions that often develop alongside it. Our programs are built to address all of these at once, because lasting recovery depends on understanding what drove the addiction in the first place.
Whether you are struggling with alcohol, opioids, stimulants, or cannabis: or navigating a combination of substance use and mental health challenges: you will find a structured, evidence-based approach designed to meet you where you are.
Substance Use Disorders We Treat
Alcohol Addiction
Alcohol use disorder is one of the most common and most underestimated forms of addiction. The physical dependence that develops with heavy, prolonged alcohol use requires careful medical management at the earliest stage of treatment. At Foundry Steamboat, alcohol treatment is integrated across our full continuum of care: from medically monitored detox through residential, PHP, IOP, and virtual IOP: so that care does not stop when the acute withdrawal phase ends.
Opioid Addiction
Opioid use disorder: whether driven by prescription painkillers, heroin, or fentanyl: carries serious medical and psychological risks that require a coordinated clinical response. Our team provides evidence-based care that addresses both the physical dimensions of opioid dependence and the emotional and environmental factors that sustain it. Treatment may include medication-assisted approaches integrated with individual therapy, group work, and trauma-informed care.
Cocaine Addiction
Cocaine use disorder often co-occurs with anxiety, depression, or trauma histories that go unaddressed in treatment settings that focus only on the drug itself. At Foundry Steamboat, cocaine treatment is woven into a broader clinical model that evaluates mental health, trauma, and the behavioral patterns that accompany stimulant use. Our residential and outpatient programs provide the structure needed to stabilize and build a foundation for recovery.
Methamphetamine Addiction
Methamphetamine use disorder can have significant neurological and psychological effects that require sustained, specialized clinical attention. Recovery from meth use often involves a longer stabilization period and close psychiatric support. Our team works with clients to address cognitive impacts, emotional dysregulation, and the underlying conditions: including trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders: that frequently accompany methamphetamine use.
Cannabis Addiction
Cannabis use disorder is a clinical diagnosis that is often minimized, even by those experiencing it. For many adults, cannabis use has become a way to manage anxiety, sleep disruption, emotional pain, or trauma responses: and stopping without support can feel difficult or impossible. Our programs address cannabis use within a whole-person framework that looks at what the substance has been managing and what clinical tools can take its place.
Co-Occurring Conditions / Dual Diagnosis Treatment
Most people who arrive at Foundry Steamboat are managing more than one diagnosis. Substance use disorders and mental health conditions: including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and personality disorders: are deeply interconnected, and treating one without the other significantly limits outcomes. Our dual diagnosis approach integrates psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and evidence-based therapy across all levels of care, so both conditions are addressed at the same time.
Trauma and Mental Health
Trauma is not a background factor in addiction: at Foundry Steamboat, it is treated as a central driver of it. Our clinical model is built around the understanding that unresolved trauma shapes the way people use substances, respond to stress, and experience relationships. Trauma-informed care is integrated throughout our programming, not offered as a supplement.
If you or someone you love is navigating addiction alongside a history of trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health challenges, our team is equipped to provide coordinated care that addresses both.
A Full Continuum of Care
Treatment needs vary, and so does our level of care. Depending on where you are in your recovery, our team may recommend:
- Virtual IOP: Remote access to our IOP programming for clients who cannot attend in person.
- Men’s Residential Program: Structured, immersive inpatient care for adult men, with integrated trauma treatment, psychiatric support, and family programming.
- Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): A step-down from residential that provides intensive daily clinical support while clients begin reintegrating into daily life.
- Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP): Flexible, structured outpatient programming for adults who need clinical support while maintaining work, family, or other responsibilities.
- Family Programming: Specialized curriculum, coaching, and group work to help families address the pervasive effects of addictive disorders in a two-level telehealth program.
