Recovery is not a single step—it’s a coordinated process that looks different for every person. At Foundry Steamboat, we offer a full continuum of care designed to meet you where you are and support you through each stage of treatment.
Whether you’re entering care for the first time, stepping down from a higher level of support, or looking for flexible outpatient options that fit around your daily responsibilities, our clinical team will work with you to identify the right level of care. Each of our programs is built around the same core principle: that lasting recovery is most possible when treatment addresses not just substance use, but the trauma, mental health conditions, and family dynamics that often drive it.
Our Levels of Care
Our medical and psychiatric team monitors each client closely throughout the treatment process, ensuring a safe and as-comfortable-as-possible transition into a recovery-focused lifestyle.
Residential Addiction Treatment Program
Our men’s residential program is Foundry Steamboat’s flagship level of care. Designed specifically for adult men, residential treatment provides a structured, immersive environment in which clinical work, medical support, and therapeutic programming are woven together across the full day.
Residential care at Foundry Steamboat is built around a trauma-integrated model. That means trauma is not treated as a secondary concern, it is central to the clinical work. Our team recognizes that unresolved trauma is often at the root of substance use, and our programming reflects that understanding at every level.
Clients in our residential program receive coordinated care that may include individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation and medication management, evidence-based trauma therapies, family systems work, and relapse prevention planning. The Steamboat Springs environment, structured and removed from the triggers and pressures of daily life, supports the deep clinical work that residential treatment makes possible.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our Partial Hospitalization Program provides intensive, structured clinical support for clients who are ready to transition out of residential care or who need a higher level of outpatient support than a standard IOP can offer.
PHP at Foundry Steamboat involves multiple hours of programming per day, several days per week, while allowing clients to live outside of a residential setting. It functions as a meaningful step-down from residential treatment — maintaining clinical intensity while beginning to reintegrate clients into a degree of daily independence.
Like all of our programs, PHP is built around trauma-informed care and coordinated clinical oversight. Clients continue to access individual therapy, group programming, psychiatric support, and family-facing resources throughout this level of care.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for adults who need structured, consistent clinical support while maintaining their work, family, or other daily responsibilities. IOP at Foundry Steamboat is open to adults of all genders and provides a meaningful level of care for those who do not require the containment of residential or PHP-level treatment.
Clients in IOP participate in group and individual therapy, skills-based programming, relapse prevention work, and ongoing clinical coordination. Our team monitors each client’s progress and can adjust the level of care if clinical needs change.
IOP can serve as a step-down from PHP or residential care, or as a primary level of treatment for those whose clinical needs are appropriate for an outpatient setting.

Virtual IOP
For adults who are unable to attend in-person treatment, whether due to geography, work obligations, caregiving responsibilities, or other barriers, our Virtual Intensive Outpatient Program provides structured clinical care delivered entirely online.
Virtual IOP follows the same clinical framework as our in-person outpatient programming, with group therapy, individual sessions, and coordinated care available through a secure telehealth platform. It is designed for adults who are clinically appropriate for outpatient-level care and who would benefit from consistent, structured support without the need to be physically present at our Steamboat Springs facility.

Family Program
Addiction affects the entire family system, and recovery is most sustainable when that system is part of the clinical process. Our Family Program provides structured education, coaching, and family systems support for the loved ones of clients in treatment at Foundry Steamboat.
Through the Michael Barnes Family Institute, families have access to programming designed to help them understand the dynamics of addiction, recognize enabling patterns, set healthy boundaries, and begin their own process of healing alongside their loved one. This is not a peripheral offering, family involvement is treated as a meaningful component of the clinical model.
Family programming is available to loved ones of clients across all levels of care.

Our Clinical Approach
Every program at Foundry Steamboat is grounded in the same clinical philosophy: that effective addiction treatment must address the whole person. Our treatments draw on evidence-based modalities, including psychotherapy, trauma-focused therapies, and psychiatric care, delivered by a coordinated clinical team.
We do not approach addiction as an isolated behavior. We recognize that trauma, mental health, and family systems are deeply connected to substance use, and our programming is built to address all of these dimensions together.
